Its difficult these days to be a Raider Nation Faithful. We seem to be able to do some considerable defensive damage to teams much like when I went to see the game today. Defense seems all coordinated and they are very opportunistic. Unfortunately, we have to then call in the offense. For some reason, there is some belief that Oakland can win the game by only having 4 minutes of offense in the first half. How?
The second half is not much better and finally after some minutes/hours, we score a TD. But penalties, strange play-calling, and plain old bad luck tempers that joy. Then we’re close and its only a minute or so left. We’re marching down the field. Dante throws a pass.
Whammo…Â Interception and game over.
Yes… Its tought being one of the faithful these days. I feel like yelling or painting my face black sometimes. Until I go to the games.  Going to the game is always an exercise in joy and sadness. Many of the people I sit by seem to just take it all with good grace or perhaps its just the way it is these days. What can the new head coach say this time? Bad calls? Penalties not deserved? What it really is that one-half of the team does not even bother to show up some of the time. After watching for a few hours, its kinda obvious. Its a mix of terribly bad luck and an inability to most often do anything more than 3 and out.
