Been on the road in Japan and Korea last few days. Almost actually gone a week now and I’m enjoying it still. I am running out of clean clothes so its a good thing ™ to be leaving for home tomorrow. For a long while at Linuxcare I traveled in the US a lot. I bounced to New York, Austin, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle. It was okay but traveling at the rate I did was exhausting all by itself. When you add in the 12 or so hours in a day I was expected to work as well, it meant a 8 hour work day never happened. It was always like 16 or 18. I’d arrive at another quality hotel and have dozens of emails from happy, mad, or even drunk clients to deal with. Yes even drunk ones
Anyways, my bloggables are a bit low now and I’m relaxing here in Seoul with the 80 degree weather, staring out my hotel room window after a day of meetings.
I’ve given a bit of thought to work of late. Seems we are all allocated some number of work hours or years but what I do with them is my business. Out in the bay area, that’s true; but you have to get at least X dollars in a year to even survive. Blech and pffft.
I’m so glad I use Linux as a desktop OS. No bugs, no malware, no stuff. It just works. Of course, for me it must be debian or nothing. If I cannot run Debian, then I’ll have to go back to NT4 Workstation…
BSOD baby!
